Why you MUST Become a Niche Celeb on YouTube in 2011

As 2010 comes to a close, I cannot help but think about the unprecedented winds of change we’ve seen this year and what’s up ahead in the new year.

Here are a couple really important points I want to share with you:

1. If you’ve followed the internet this year or for any amount of time, you know that YouTube is one of the most popular sites on the internet, actually it’s #3…the #1 site is of course Google (who now owns YouTube)

2. If you also have been thinking that good ol’ videos are just too ancient to be relevant to your success in 2011…

… then I want to introduce you to TWO young guys (and young at heart father) who should seriously rattle your cage. (And we all need our cages rattled now and then.)

These guys, the McFadden brothers, didn’t come from “nowhere” when they stunned the marketing world by ignoring obstacles and creating a video series model that can pull down 700,00 YouTube views in a weekend.

No… they started with a home made video with their Dad’s accountant Eli and a few of his dirty jokes.

And more than anyone else I know of, they channeled the most powerful part of the internets mojo…

… and it’s something you need to dig into.

Whether you aim to become the “go to guy” guru in your market or whether you just want to surpass all your competition by bringing in more action (and by “action”, I mean money, buzz and influence).

I’ve heard that folks like Tony Little, Ron Glass, Tim Matheson, Marshall Wayne, Jason Moffatt, Hot For Words, Lorraine Grula, Dave Kaminski, George Strompolos (Former Co-Founder of the YouTube Partner Program) and Weezer have called on the McFaddens — Thom, James, and Tyler — for their strategies.

I believe it, after following them and watching them work.

If the geniuses behind the 3rd most visited site on the internet know they can learn from these young men, it’s a sure bet that you can, too.

Here’s what’s up: If you’re ready to dominate your market (and even grab the top guru spot)…

… you need to see what the McFadden Bros (GoPotatoTV) are giving away here:

Please bop over there right now — they’ve already got a shocking amount of great stuff posted…no telling how long it will be available. (Sorry for the late notice here, but I just found out Thom and his sons are doing this. It’s worth a rush look-see…)

You don’t need any inside advantages, or any head-start, or any special knowledge to follow their lead.

That’s why I’m suggesting you see what the McFaddens have for you here.

There are solid, proven strategies here that can transform your position in your niche or market, quickly.

It’s powerful stuff.

How to Get a Million Subscribers on YouTube

Becoming a hit on YouTube is no easy task. Actually, correction: Becoming a hit on YouTube ON PURPOSE is no easy task.

One thing is to accidentally create a silly video that goes viral and another very different thing is to build your subscribers list to the thousands or even millions of youtubers that will watch and comment your videos.

So, how do you become a YouTube star?

Here is a list of tricks you can do to get a million subscribers on youtube, it was taken from and interview with rising youtube partner DeStorm Powers who has more than half a million subscribers on youtube.

DeStorm’s goal is to reach 1 million subscribers soon and gets angry every time that he gets less than 2000 new subscribers in one day.

Make as many videos as you can

Aim to push out at least two videos a week, though the sweet spot is probably closer to three or four in order to keep your numbers up.

Invest on a good HD camera an learn how to edit your videos

Visuals matter, but beautiful visuals won’t appear on their own. High quality YouTube videos require an investment of both money and time. DeStorm suggested picking up a decent HD camera and the proper mics if you have the cash. That investment helped DeStorm get more youtube subscribers.

You can also learn how to create killer videos using a cheap pocket HD camera, a simple lapel mic and some easy editing tricks

Promote your videos using social media

By branching out on popular social networks, you can grab viewers that might not otherwise find you through YouTube itself. DeStorm’s Facebook following also means that when he posts a new video, he has a better shot of hitting YouTube’s front page. The time spent on other networks can directly help your channel.

DeStorm said. “When I’m on Facebook, I’m using that for YouTube. When I’m on Twitter, I’m using that for YouTube.”

Make spoofs and alternative versions of popular videos

Even before they are released…

“You can go the route to drop a music video before that music video actually drops.” This means that people looking for the actual video will stumble upon your fake version.

Do collabs and joint ventures with other youtubers

Collaborations are an important way to increase your youtube subscribers. DeStorm advised finding other YouTuber users with similar amounts of subscribers and collaborating on videos.

Talk about what’s hot and trending

Listen for topics that are trending on the Internet and find unique, creative ways to cover them.

Show your face!

Make sure you show your face and name somewhere in the video so viewers can recognize you, and also make sure you look at the camera — viewers like to think you’re talking to them rather than reading off a script.

Which YouTube Partners Make More Money On YouTube?

shane dawson earns money on youtubeThere are 10 “independent” YouTube Partners who made over $100,000 in the past year, according to a study done by analytics and advertising company TubeMogul. All from just displaying google adsense ads on their videos.

Here is an estimation made with data taken from July 2009 to July 2010 for the views and earnings of those “independent” YouTube Stars (independent meaning “not part of a media company or brand”)

But first, let’s take a look at how they got their estimates:

  • Revenue only comes from banner ads served near content (we ignored pre-roll or overlay since we can’t easily isolate by publisher).
  • Since YouTube banner ads have a two-second load delay, we estimate 2.59% of viewers click away before an ad loads based on separate research.
  • Ads were served near all videos that loaded (since there are partners, this is generally true).
  • CPM for the banner ads was $1.50 (Google auctions a lot of this inventory off; we rounded this 2009 estimate down to be conservative)
  • YouTube is splitting ad revenue with partners 50-50.

Basically, take their youtube views from the past year, assume a few don’t stick around long enough for an ad to load, divide that number by 1,000, multiply by $1.50 and divide that number in half.

A bit conservative estimate but this will give you an idea…

Over 6000 subscribers and YouTube Partner in 4 months

Paul Brook, UK Pro Mind Reader and How To Get Views member made a video a few days ago explaining how he got over six thousand subscribers on YouTube so fast. In fact in just a couple of days he went from 4000 to 6000 and it looks like this is not going to stop anytime soon.

In this video he explains his “Constant Honors” system that he accidentally discovered and gives a shout to HTGV for helping him in the process.

Here is the video:

Every week I get emails from members telling me they got approved on the YouTube Partner program, that their videos are getting so much better and that their subscribers are skyrocketing.

This is what motivates me to keep working on How To Get Views every day. I started this thing to help people get noticed, and it looks like those who take action are getting incredible results.

So cheers guys for being so awesome and keep it up!
